"Throughout my practice as a school based administrator at the Secondary and Middle levels, I know that the most important factor for the student success is teacher effectiveness. Marsha ably coached me through many POIAs for marginally performing teachers. This work resulted in more effective teachers as a direct result, higher student achievement across all student subgroups. Her commitment to working with the instructional leader as a thought partner proved invaluable, especially in communicating the process for licensed and classified union staff representatives. It is without reservation that I say Marsha's work has been transformative for our district supervision and evaluation process and has had the result of producing and sustaining truly highly qualified instructional staff."
– Susan Reike-Smith, Superintendent, Springfield Public Schools
“Marsha Moyer is a consummate professional who has added value to our district. As a presenter of staff development, Marsha is top notch. She brings a high degree of expertise on a variety of issues being especially well versed in the area of performance evaluation. She is always well prepared and having the ability to take what can be rather dry information and present it in a relevant and interactive way. Marsha does this with style, humor and intelligence.”
– Matt Bondi, Director of Middle Schools, Salem-Keizer Public Schools
“Marsha is a visionary. She has an amazing talent in helping others to think about how to challenge people to become exceptional educators as well as exceptional educational leaders. She is a good listener and generous in sharing information and ideas. She has done so much for me when it comes to helping me develop as an instructional leader. She always has innovative ideas, and works through problems masterfully. She helped me to deepen my leadership skills so that I may, in turn, sharpen others. Her skills are exceptional and she will give all of her energy to make you greater.”
– Artonya Cee, Principal, Brush College Elementary
“Marsha Moyer is an effective staff developer who is committed to improving staff quality and increasing student learning. She sets the stage for the session making sure it is in context for the learners. Her ability to facilitate gets her participants interacting, which helps them shape the workshop to meet their needs. She is insightful, entertaining and responsive in her approach to staff development. It’s clear that she not only enjoys the “teaching” aspect of staff development, but remains a learner as well. I hope you get the opportunity to learn from such a dynamic and experienced educator!”
– Dave Berthoff, Principal, Gubser Elementary
“Marsha Moyer believes it is the right of all students to have a highly trained, highly effective teacher in every classroom. In my role as a school principal, Mrs. Moyer has provided me with high levels of support towards achieving that goal. In cases where teachers have been found to be lacking skills, Mrs. Moyer has sat alongside me and together we have mapped out a plan for improvement. By providing teachers with additional training, peer mentoring, and specific targeted goals, a majority of my classroom professionals have been able to transform their performance from a marginal level of success to a new standard where they and their students are highly successful. Mrs. Moyer’s background and experience allows her to offer great insights, suggestions, and strategies to help our teaching professionals grow to their fullest potential.” – Alan deMeurers, Principal, Myers Elementary
"Marsha proved to be a great mentor and leader right from the start. She explained that we would be writing performance goals. It would have been very easy for Marsh to simply write the goals for me. Instead, she game me a considerable amount of her valuable time to become a facilitator in leading me through the process so that I would gain both knowledge and confidence. Marsha never made me feel as though any question I had was a silly one (although I am certain some of them probably were), and I slowly gained confidence in my ability to write goals, hold goal progress meetings, and follow the established district protocol for supporting teachers in a more direct way. As the year progressed, I have grown in my skill set when it comes to teacher evaluation and support. This is due, in large part, to Marsha.
